Hydraulics and Sustainable Development Conference (HED2)

The Hydraulics and Sustainable Development Conference (HED2) aims to bring together researchers, engineers, local authorities, engineering consultancies and institutional stakeholders to discuss the major challenges facing the hydraulics sector in support of the environmental transition and regional adaptation.
This inaugural 2026 event will be structured around two complementary sessions.
The first half-day will be devoted to the presentation of recent projects and ongoing initiatives led by public and private sector stakeholders in the fields of water management and the environment, thereby providing an overview of national activity and current innovations.
The second half-day will focus on the topic of numerical simulation of urban flooding, a subject at the heart of concerns regarding the resilience of cities in the face of extreme hydrometeorological events.
The presentations will cover scientific advances, operational feedback and the prospects for the development of modelling and decision-support tools.
These events are intended to serve as a key forum for discussion and knowledge-sharing amongst the various communities involved, fostering dialogue between research, expertise and operational practice.
