H2O'Lyon Certificate // Master's Degree






 

A certification to boost your career and develop your network

The H2O’Lyon certification will help you to develop your thinking on the major issues related to water and promotes your professional integration via:
  • an opening to research, to international and interdisciplinary activities
  • an incentive to develop links with socio-economic partners
  • participation in H2O'Lyon programs

The H2O’Lyon certification in practice

  • One or more courses (6 ECTS) outside the student's original training programme, from a selection offered by the graduate school H2O'Lyon
  • Attending training course such as conference or summer school
  • Support for international mobility of 3 to 6 months
  • Participating in H2O’Lyon events, exchange with PhD students from different disciplines and developing your network


Who is the H2O’Lyon certification intended for?

The H2O’Lyon certification is open to H2O'Lyon Masters and Engineering School students.

Any student enrolled in a master's degree (M1 or M2) or an engineering school course (4th or 5th year) of the EUR H2O'Lyon can apply for the H2O'Lyon certification.

A file outlining the candidate's motivation and the way in which he/she believes he/she meets the conditions for obtaining the label (see below) must be completed and sent to h2olyon@univ-lyon1.fr

Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Selection is based on the match between the student's profile, their training project and the objectives of the certification.

Requirements

Once the above application has been accepted the student has two years to complete the following requirements:
  • Complete 6 ECTS H2O'Lyon courses apart from your original course of study
  • In agreement with the heads of the masters' courses concerned
  • Attend a training course such as summer school, conference, suggested or approved by H2O’Lyon
  • Complete an international mobility of 3 to 6 months
  • This can be split up or have taken place prior to the realisation of the certification
  • Participate in a project involving an interdisciplinary aspect and/or with non-academic partners.
  • Can be carried out during the international mobility.
  • Produce a work in English: thesis, publication, communication, poster or other production (video for example)
  • Demonstrate a good level of English (B2 minimum)

All these elements must have been carried out in the context of water projects.

Scholarship

The Graduate School can provide financial support, based on the application, to students enrolled in the H2O'Lyon Certificate Program, to fund:
  • Registration for summer schools.
  • Traineeships in the context of international mobility.
  • Registration for the language examination of English or French.
