Workshop on Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology

On The June 24, 2021

Both Environmental and Industrial Biotechnology rely on microbial biocatalysis to convert raw materials into products and services.

These two sectors have historically developed along parallel pathways and towards different application areas. However, major advances in Systems Biology have led to an inextricable link between these two technology families.

On June 24th, world-class specialists Merja Penttila (VTT), Marion Crest (BioResourceLab), Fabio Fava (UNIBO), Gregg T. Bechkam (NREL), and Mark von Loosdrecht (Delft University) will examine the key features of Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology, exploring their relative strengths and weaknesses, and looking at the current state of the art, especially in real-life applications.
