Science Day 2024 // Science along the water

On The October 12, 2024

Hôtel de Ville de Lyon

For one day, the City of Lyon, the mediators from EbulliScience, along with researchers and students from INSA Lyon, ENS Lyon, University Lyon 2, and H2O'Lyon, are offering workshops to show that science and technology are accessible to everyone.

The students of the Integrated Watershed Sciences master's program and the H2O'Lyon researchers invite you to join them for 4 fun and interactive workshops:
  • Humans and Rivers: Like many other cities, Lyon was built around rivers. The city's development has altered the watercourses, but how and why? And what role should rivers play in the city today? Explore maps and engage in a game on river restoration.
  • Biodiversity and River Health: Discover two tools scientists use to study the biodiversity and health of rivers. Benthic macroinvertebrates and environmental DNA.
  • The Water Cycle: How do humans impact this resource and the ecosystems associated? What solutions exist to preserve freshwater? Take on challenges to better understand these issues.
  • Collective Mural "Living on the River": In many cities, rivers serve as a mode of transportation, a resource, a living space, and a natural feature. Come explore your imagination and share it on the mural.
