Maria is a freshwater ecologist at INRAE Lyon working on human impact on animal populations in freshwater ecosystems. The key topics of my research relate to animal dispersal and recruitment in stream networks, restoration ecology, hydropeaking effects on riverine ecosystems. Focusing predominantly on aquatic insects and their understudied life stages (imagines and eggs) as study organisms, I use a wide palette of tools from field and lab experiments to isotope ecology and population genetics.
