International Women's Day // Women in Water

On The March 8, 2020

In anticipation of the International Women's Day on 8 March 2020, H2O'Lyon would like to pay a special tribute to women in water, not forgetting the women and girls who live in a part of the world where gender and social classes still determine access to water.

We are pleased to see that the wake-up call generated by the struggle of women and men for gender equality in recent years continues to spread throughout the world and across generations.

EUR H2O'Lyon is proud to count 114 women among its members, including Sylvie Barraud, Director of the GCU department at INSA Lyon, and Co-coordinator of the H2O'Lyon project.

For its part, the IWA (International Water Association) awards the IWA Women in Water prize every two years, which recognizes women's leadership in the field of water, the impact of their work and their influence.

Similarly, a recent article by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) drew four portraits of their female members who have made significant contributions to water supply and sanitation in their communities.
