Date limite de réponse : 22 juillet 2025
Missions :

An assistantship is available beginning January 2026 for an incoming PhD student to work with Dr. Anne Chin as advisor in the Department of Geography. The assistantship entails assisting in teaching or research at 0.50% FTE for up to 20 hours per week. The student will develop a dissertation topic in conjunction with Dr. Chin and other faculty members. A topic focused on urbanization on floodplains in the USA is ideal within a comparative context coordinated with GLOURB (Floodplain Urbanization at Global Scales) at the University of Lyon. A student with interests both in field-based research and geospatial techniques such as GIS, remote sensing, and GEO-AI is ideal.

The assistantship (up to four years) provides a stipend of approximately $10,500 USD per semester (Fall and Spring), plus international tuition waivers of 9 credit hours per semester (approximately $10,000 USD). Students are responsible for fees: $953 USD for enrollment of 9 credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters and $529 USD for enrollment of 5 credit hours during summers. The assistantship also offers support during summers at a stipend of approximately $3,500 USD and international tuition waiver coverage of 5 credit hours, for a total of approximately $9,000 USD.
