4th International Conference on "River Health: Assessment to Restoration (RHAR 2025)"

The Theme of RHAR 2025 is " Restoration of Small Rivers: Application of Advanced Tools and Technologies, with Convergence of Policies and Programs "
The Department of Civil Engineering, IIT (BHU) Varanasi is organizing the 4th International Conference on "River Health: Assessment to Restoration (RHAR 2025) during Oct. 29- Nov. 01, 2025 (https://conferences.iitbhu.ac.in/rhar) in association with Smart Laboratory of Clean Rivers (SLCR), IIT (BHU), under Namami Gange and Embassy of Denmark. The Conference will be broadly in physical mode with IIT (BHU) Varanasi as the venue.
The Theme of RHAR 2025 is " Restoration of Small Rivers: Application of Advanced Tools and Technologies, with Convergence of Policies and Programs "
In RHAR 2025 several international partners are expected, including authorities from Embassies, and experts from bodies such as IC-IMPACTS, INWF, and AIWC, to enrich the program. On the national level are involved the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS), Namami Gange and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Officials from concerned Ministries and agencies of the Government of India, such as CWC and CPCB, and Institutes of national importance, including IITs, NITs, are invited and expected to be part of the program.
The city of Varanasi, also called 'Banaras' and 'Kashi', is home to the most ancient living civilization in the world and is a remarkable tourist destination. This 'cultural capital of the East' has witnessed many historical legends and has glorified many religious and intellectual luminaries. It is revered as the 'city of moksha’ or salvation and offers quite an engaging, stimulating, and enriching itinerary.
